HOMEMADE SPICY CRISPY CHICKEN STRIPS
Tender chicken breast strips marinated and coated with a flavorful chili-spiced flour batter, then deep-fried to golden, crispy perfection. These strips stay crunchy for hours and are delicious served warm or cold.

Ingredients
- 1 boneless chicken breast
- 250 ml milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp chili powder (divided)
- 1Β½ tsp salt (divided)
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tbsp homemade vegeta seasoning (or substitute with seasoning mix)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice chicken breast into 1-finger-thick strips. Wash well and place in a pot. Cover with 2 cups cold water mixed with Β½ tsp granulated garlic, vegeta seasoning, and 1 tsp salt. Refrigerate for 2β4 hours.
- Heat pot on stove and bring water to boil, then turn off heat, cover with lid, and let chicken sit for 10 minutes to cook gently.
- Drain strips and let cool slightly, then pat dry thoroughly with kitchen towels.
- In a bowl, whisk egg, milk, and 1 tsp chili powder until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix flour, remaining chili powder, Β½ tsp salt, and Β½ tsp granulated garlic well.
- Coat each chicken strip in flour mixture, then dip into milk-egg mix, and coat again in flour mixture. For extra crispiness, dab fingers in water and gently pinch flour on strips to create shredded texture.
- Heat plenty of oil in a deep pan. Using a fryer basket or similar tool, fry 5β6 strips at a time for exactly 3 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Remove strips and drain on paper towels.
- Let strips cool for at least 10 minutes before serving to slightly soften crust. They stay crispy for 2β3 hours after cooking.
- Serve warm or cold as a snack or meal addition.
