Quick & Easy Pizza Twists – Inspired by Rachael Ray
This fast and flavorful recipe comes from Rachael Ray’s show and was my first time using a dedicated Chips & Dip baking tray — perfect for party snacks or a casual bite!
🕒 Prep & Cooking Time
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 15–20 minutes
- Servings: 4
- Difficulty: Easy
📝 Ingredients
- 350 g pizza dough (water, flour, salt)
- Mixed shredded cheese (I used mozzarella, Edam, and Hochland cheddar)
- Spicy salami slices (like pepperoni or Hungarian spicy paprika salami)
- Dried oregano
🔪 Step-by-Step Instructions
- Roll out the pizza dough into a thin rectangular sheet, similar to preparing a pizza.
- On one half of the dough, layer the salami slices evenly.
- Generously sprinkle shredded cheese over the salami.
- Fold the uncovered half of the dough over the filled side to enclose the filling.
- Using a pizza cutter or serrated knife, slice the dough into strips about two fingers wide.
- Take each strip and twist it from both ends, like wringing out a towel.
- Place the twisted strips on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or into your Chips & Dip tray.
- Sprinkle the twists with oregano.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (430°F) until golden and crispy, about 15–20 minutes.
- Serve warm with tomato and basil dipping sauce.
💡 Tips & Variations
- Use any combination of cheeses you love — sharp cheddar or smoked gouda work well too.
- Add a sprinkle of chili flakes for some heat before twisting the dough.
- Try stuffing with other fillings like olives, roasted peppers, or cooked sausage.
- These twists are great reheated, making them ideal for make-ahead snacks.
