Ingredients

  • 750 g red bell peppers
  • 250 g hot red chili peppers
  • 50 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 1 kg sugar

Instructions

  1. Remove seeds and stems from all peppers and slice them.
  2. Place peppers and apple cider vinegar in a pot over low heat. Cook with the lid on, stirring occasionally (especially early on) for about 20 minutes until peppers soften and release their juices.
  3. Let cool slightly, then puree the mixture using a blender or food processor.
  4. Pass the puree through a fine sieve to remove skins and achieve a smooth texture.
  5. Return the puree to the pot, add sugar, and simmer gently for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and wrap them in a blanket to cool overnight.
  7. Store jars in a cool place or refrigerator.
